Share the spirit of the season with these energy-saving tips

Find ways to manage your energy costs during the holiday season.

  • When using your oven, check cooking progress by looking through the window. Opening the oven door for even a few seconds lowers the temperature inside by as much as 25⁰F.
  • Turn off the oven early. Your oven’s insulation will allow your food to continue cooking with the remaining heat.
  • Lower your thermostat. Keeping your thermostat at 66 to 68 degrees keeps guests comfortable and save 1 to 3% on heating costs for every 1 degree you lower it.
