Frequently Asked Questions
- What's different?
- We currently buy gas for you and deliver it through your meter as you
need it. With the Gas Choice program, you can now choose to purchase
natural gas from another company (supplier). Regardless of your choice, we
will continue delivering the gas to your meter, handling billing, and
answering service and emergency calls as well as questions about your
account.

- Will I have to choose?
- No. Gas Choice is a voluntary program open to all customers on a
first-come, first-served basis. There is no obligation to choose another
supplier. If you do not want to choose an alternate supplier, do nothing.
Michigan Gas Utilities will continue to supply and deliver your
natural gas.

- How do I sign up with a new supplier?
- New gas suppliers may approach you about the Choice program. If you
would like to switch to one of these suppliers, complete their enrollment
process by mail, telephone, Internet, person-to-person, or in whatever way
the supplier may offer. Your chosen supplier will send the enrollment
request to Michigan Gas Utilities for processing.

- The price does not affect the quality of the natural gas you receive,
regardless of the supplier.

- No. No additional piping or construction will occur as a result of Gas
Choice. No matter which supplier you choose, we will continue to deliver
