Gas Choice allows you to choose your natural gas supplier — the company supplying the natural gas that Michigan Gas Utilities delivers through your meter — from participating suppliers.
Typically, Michigan Gas Utilities both supplies and delivers your natural gas. With Gas Choice, gas suppliers may compete for your business, potentially offering gas prices that better meet your needs. If you want Michigan Gas Utilities to deliver your gas from another supplier, you'll initiate enrollment by providing that company with your account number and meter number. The supplier will then notify Michigan Gas Utilities to make the switch.
If you do not want to choose an alternate supplier, do nothing. Michigan Gas Utilities will continue to supply and deliver your natural gas. Regardless of your choice, Michigan Gas Utilities will continue to deliver the gas to your meter, handle billing and respond to any emergencies.
